Palden Lhamo Thangka (Hand Painted, 15” x 20”)
This vintage, original hand-painted thangka portrays Palden Lhamo (Sanskrit: Shridevi), one of the most important female protectors in Tibetan Buddhism. As the principal worldly protectress of Tibet, she holds a unique position of reverence—especially in connection to the Dalai Lama. Depicted in her fierce and wrathful form, she rides a mule across a sea of blood, seated atop the flayed skin of her son, who represents the deeply rooted self-grasping that must be overcome on the path to enlightenment.

Her terrifying appearance reflects her unwavering commitment to destroying ignorance, delusion, and negativity.
