1000 Arm Avalokitesvara Enamel Pendant

Avalokitesvara (Tib. Chenrezik) is the Buddha of Compassion and his 6-Syllable Mantra of om mani padme hung" is the most commonly repeated mantra among many Buddhists. In the Lotus Sutra, it is said that Avalokitesvara's compassion will deliver anyone from any danger if they "merely think" of him. In China, he is often imagined as female and is known as Guanyin (Jap. Kannon, Kor. Gwan-eum) Many of the great lineage-masters in Tibetan Buddhism are considered emanations of this buddha - masters such as the Dalai Lamas, the Karmapas & the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsangs. In this form of a thousand hands and eyes (in the palm of each hand is an eye!), the all-pervasive compassion (hands) and wisdom (eyes) of Avalokitesvara is expressed.
On the reverse of this pendant is the mantra of Avalokitesvara - om mani padme hung.
1.25" diameter, comes with a red cord.
