Himalayan Khenpa

Himalayan Khenpa (Sage) - 3.5 oz (100 grams)

Khenpa, also known as sage, is traditionally used in sang offerings to purify and clear obstacles. In Tibetan culture, it is also burned in the home, especially when someone is suffering from a cold or flu, as it is believed to have healing properties that help alleviate symptoms.

The most renowned type of Khenpa is the Ganden Khenpa, named after the Ganden Monastery, the first monastery founded by the great Lama Tsongkhapa. According to legend, when the monastery was plagued by an infectious disease, Lama Tsongkhapa scattered his shaved hair around the area, where the Ganden Khenpa herb miraculously grew. This herb was then used to purify and clear the disease, and it has since become highly revered for its ability to clear obstacles and purify the environment.

Currently, Ganden Khenpa is unavailable due to shipping disruptions caused by the Covid pandemic. However, we have sourced an alternative from the Himalayas in Nepal, which is known for its purifying and healing qualities.
