Zen
Known as “zen” in Tibetan, this is a single piece robe for the upper body, worn with one’s left shoulder covered and right bare. It is the most common upper robe worn on a daily basis by celibate monastics. Its use is however not exclusive to monastics as it is also used by some non-monastics but if you don’t carry celibate monastic vows, it is best you check with you lineage teachers whether this is appropriate for your use. There is quite a bit of variation across Tibetan Buddhist traditions with regards to how such burgundy/maroon zens are used.
