Melong with Hrīh Syllable - White Metal
This is an exclusive offering from Tibetan Spirit. We special commissioned this ritual-mirror for those who need it to serve as a samaya object especially in certain dharmapala and divination practices. It can also be used more generally in the ways that these ritual-mirrors are used such as in cleansing-rituals (trusol). The mirror is often a symbol of the pristine nature of our mind.
In the Drikung Kagyu tradition, the great protectores of the lineage is Achi Chökyi Drolma who lived probably around the time of Milarepa or slightly before. A mirror with a hrīh syllable is what she holds in her right hand — revealing past, present and future, as well as reflecting all of illusory reality. Many other protector-deities consulted for their powers of prognostication are often depicted holding aloft a mirror with a hrīh syllable.
