Yamantaka (Tib. Shinje, "Slayer of Death") is an extremely wrathful manifestation of Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom. There are several forms of this wrathful deity who is also known as Yamari and Vajrabhairava. In the Drikung Kagyu tradition, this special form of Yamantaka has become an important part of the lineage since several hundred years ago. In recent times, H.E. Garchen Rinpoche has spread this practice to the West and around the world.
