Lapis Wrist Mala

In Buddhism, lapis lazuli is related to healing and wellness. In particular, the pureland of Medicine Buddha is called the Lapis Lazuli Light Pureland and the hue of the body of Medicine Buddha is said to be lapis lazuli as well. The deep blue of lapis makes it an appropriate mala for accumulating mantras of deities whose main color is blue – deities such as Aksobhya, Chakrasamvara and of course, Medicine Buddha.

Furthermore, among those who believe in the special power of precious and semi-precious stones, lapis lazuli is associated with openness, inner power, intuition, and creativity. It is also believed to help build self-confidence, and in some cultures a sign of royalty. Lapis is also said to be a stone that prevents psychic attacks.

As high-grade Afghani & Chilean lapis lazuli is extremely costly, the lapis malas we currently offer are mid-grade Afghani beads that have been color-enhanced.
