Padmasambhava Enamel Pendant
Tibetan Buddhists remember Padmasambhava ("Lotus Born") as being "most kind" to Tibetans as it is due to him that the Buddha's teachings were successfully established in Tibet in the 8th century. His role as teacher and guide for all Tibetans earned him the affectionate name "Guru Rinpoche" ("the Precious Guide"). Especially to Nyingmapas (who look to him as their originator), Guru RInpoche is the embodiment of buddhas of the past, present, and future and has many different forms such as the "8 Aspects of Guru Rinpoche." His blessings is especially helpful to those who are new to the Dharma, and particularly vajrayana Dharma.
