4 Arm Avalokitesvara & Dalai Lama Enamel Pendant
Avalokitesvara (Tib. Chenrezik) is the Buddha of Compassion and his 6-Syllable Mantra of "om mani padme hung" is the most commonly repeated mantra among many Buddhists. In the Lotus Sutra, it is said that Avalokitesvara's compassion will deliver anyone from any danger if they "merely think" of him. In China, he is often imagined as female and is known as Guanyin (Jap. Kannon, Kor. Gwan-eum).
On the reverse of this pendant is the mantra of Avalokitesvara (om mani padme hung) with the hrih seed-syllable in the center.
