An Abridged White Tārā

Sita Tārā (Tib. sgrol dkar) or White Tārā is one of the most well-known forms of Tārā. Tārā literally means “savioress” and she is known for her swiftness in responding to prayers and delivering beings from suffering. White Tārā is especially related to extending one’s lifespan, and prevention against accidental deaths. Among the four buddha-activities, White Tārā embodies the activity of pacifying suffering and confusion.

This very brief sādhana was composed by Lho Jedrung Nuden Dorjé (1849-1902), an important Drikung Kagyu lama in eastern Tibet who was also trained in Nyingma traditions.
