Silky White Katag - 7’

Katags (khatas) are Tibetan ceremonial scarves offered to one’s teachers or anyone who is being honored. It is said that offering katags is  the Tibetan adaptation of the Indian tradition of offering flower garlands. Since sourcing flowers large enough to make garlands are near impossible in most parts of Tibet, flower garlands have been replaced by silk scarves woven with auspicious symbols.

  • white, sheer katag adorned
  • with auspicious symbols
  • 7’ in length

makes a substantial offering to a lama after an empowerment

A thick, sensuous feel to it, but I wish I'd ordered in a longer size rather than just 7 feet. This store has the larger size. Lovely Tibetan Buddhist "auspicious" symbols in outline on the fabric.
