4 Arm Avalokitesvara Enamel Pendant

Avalokitesvara (Tib. Chenrezik) is the Buddha of Compassion and his 6-Syllable Mantra of "om mani padme hung" is the most commonly repeated mantra among many Buddhists. In the Lotus Sutra, it is said that Avalokitesvara's compassion will deliver anyone from any danger if they "merely think" of him. In China, he is often imagined as female and is known as Guanyin (Jap. Kannon, Kor. Gwan-eum) Many of the great lineage-masters in Tibetan Buddhism are considered emanations of this buddha - masters such as the Dalai Lamas, the Karmapas & the Drikung Kyabgon Chetsangs.

On the reverse of this pendant is the mantra of Avalokitesvara (om mani padme hung) with the hrih seed-syllable in the center.
